Bellis Coldwine is the main protagonist of The Scar. Due to her connection to Isaac Dan der Grimnebulin, she feels she must flee New Crobuzon. She soon meets Silas Fennec, Uther Doul, and Tanner Sack and becomes entangled in a web of espionage that she herself was instrumental in spinning.
